Typewritten Letter Signed to A. Roth of Boosey & Hawkes, 1 page large 4to, Clarens, 11 August 1948. With a full translation. Explaining that he had performed [Stravinsky's] Petroushka Suite in Salzburg, commenting on the performance and the concert hall and discussing future plans.
'... Aside from the fact that the pianist, while good otherwise, proved not to be completely suited to this special task, the performance was good. However the acoustics in the present Salzburg Festival Hall are very unfavourable for concerts, particularly for the strings. ... '
'However, I should like to perform Strauss's oboe concerto in Vienna. ...'
