Unless otherwise indicated the image is of the most significant part of the object
GOUNOD, Charles François (1818-1893). French composer.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent ('Mon cher ami'), 1 page 8vo with integral blank, Paris, 17 Rue LaRochefoucault, 21 November 1876. A note on the reverse suggests that the letter is to the author [Louis] Gallet (1835-1898), some of whose words had been set to music by Gounod.
Humorously arranging a meeting:
'Voila mon nez;: que je vous demande la permission de vous offrir, maintenant que nous nous regardons entre quatre-de-yeux - a Jeudi, à l'heure ordinaire, Doulevard Haussmann ...'
With transcription and translation.
