FLEMING, Alexander (1881-1955). Bacteriologist.
Typewritten Letter Signed to Professor Robert Charr in Philadelphia, 1 page 8vo, Wright-Fleming Institute of Microbliology, London, 18 November 1953. Answering a question about the incidence of sarcoidosis.
'... I am afraid I have no information on this but I communicated with Dr. Rohan Williams and Dr. Peter Kerley but unfortunately I learn from them that they have not collected any statistics on this matter.'
Dr Robert Charr (1904-1956) was born in Korea and studied in Naking and at Huron College, South Dakota. After receiving his medical degree from the Jefferson Medical College in 1931 he specialised in diseases of the chest and published widely in that speciality.
