BUTLER, Samuel, autographs, letters, documents, manuscripts
Unless otherwise indicated the image is of the most significant part of the object
BUTLER, Samuel (1835-1902). Author of 'The Way of All Flesh'.
Autograph Letter Signed to Aglaia Coronio (1834-1906, sister-in-law of Whistler and art patron), 1 page 8vo (small tear), 15 Clifford's Inn, 6 February 1889. Apologising for yet again missing the book post delaying further the mailing of his 'books & music'.
The books and music referred to are probably Narcissus, an oratorio buffo he composed with his friend Henry Festing Jones in 1888.
