WORDSWORTH, William (1770-1850). Poet.
Letter Signed (incomplete) to the Rev I[saac] Green, 1 page 4to (on thin paper, cut down) with separate address panel, Rydal Mount, 12 November [1836]. The text of the letter is in the hand of Mary Wordsworth, the signature is that of William. Concerning the restoration (1838) of Howgill Church, on the Lune, near Sedbergh.
'... I was sorry not to have seen you when you were last in the neighbourhood or I should have given you my subscription of £2 - which I shall not forget when I have the pleasure to see you, which I imagine may be ina few weeks - else I should have sent it to you. ...'
