LANE, Richard James (1800-1872). Line-engraver and lithographer.
Autograph Letter Signed to R[ichard] Redgrave, 1 page 8vo (laid down), 1 York Villas, Campden Hill, but headed 'Etching Room', 26 October [?1865]. Discussing the forthcoming journey of Sir Cahrles Eastlake, who was to winter at Como, and the fragile state of his health.
Eastlake died at Pisa in December 1865. 'He was buried first at Florence, but at the desire of the Royal Academy his body was brought to England and buried publicly at Kensal Green.' [DNB].
