Autograph Letter Signed to Sir Roderick [Murchison], 1 page 8vo, Jordans, 11 February no year With an original photograph of Speke, 3½ x 2¼ inches. Thanking Murchison for having supported his candidature for the Athenaeum.
Speke became an enthusiastic member of the Athenaeum and practically lived in the clubhouse when in England. He would settle himself early in the morning and write all day, completing several books there.
