STRAVINSKY, Igor (1882-1971). Russian composer. Corrected proofs of two songs from 'Berceuses du Chat', extensively annotated by the composer, 4 pages small folio (oblong), Geneva, Adolf Henn [1917]. One of the most important of the early sources for these songs: only sketches for the work survive in the Stravinsky-Nachlass, now in the Paul Sacher-Stiftung, Basel. The proofs, on four separate sheets, are of 'Kot'na pechi / Intérieur / [The tom-cat on the stove]' and 'Bay Bay / Dodo [Bye-bye]'. Each is extensively annotated by the composer in red ink, mauve and black pencil, with autograph alterations to the notation, the Russian and French texts, the addition of metronome and tempo markings to 'Dodo' and corrections to the notation of some rhythmic patterns. [No: 1108] The image is of the first sheet only.
