Autograph Letter Signed to Mr James, 1 page 4to (slight traces of former mounting on the reverse, Foley Place, 11 May 1839. Concerning his work on the Reform Club.
'I have been for some time in expectation of hearing from you relative to the car-lights for the Reform Club and the gothic sashes, upon which I consulted you when you were last in Town. As both matters are of a pressing nature I should be much obliged to you to forward to me your plans and propositions as soon as possible.'
Barry had won the competition to design the clubhouse for the Reform Club in 1837. The work was completed and the building opened for use in 1841.
